The Oculus Quest has more than 100 games and applications and as many anticipated games and others not so well-known will be released in 2020, today we bring you 14 New Games Coming to the Oculus Quest.

14 New Games Coming to the Oculus Quest

Ghosts, animatronics, nostalgia, social interactions, cars, action, mystery, zombies, wizards and magic are some of the themes that characterize these fascinating games.

Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul

This is probably one of the best VR horror games of them all, and not only because of graphics, effects, sound and story, but also because you can live the story first-hand and solve the mystery by interacting with the environment.

Based on the massively popular Paranormal Activity film franchise, this original story is here to give us jump scares and to show us how realistic and creepy the VR can be.

In Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul, you will explore a quiet house and walk from one place to another to continue the story. But, the closer you are to unveiling the mystery of that house, the more you will feel that you are not alone.

Even though in the movies the video cameras usually show almost the whole story and the movements of the evil presences that invade the house, in the Oculus Quest you will interact with the environment, look for clues and check every inch of the house. Will you survive?

The Wizards – Dark Times

Developed by Carbon Studio, The Wizards – Dark Times will be released some time in 2020. This is not a straight sequel to the spell-casting series, but it is very likely to become one of the most entertaining in the Oculus Quest.

It is a magical combat adventure game where you must use hand and arm gestures to cast spells, such as fireballs, wind attacks, shields and ice bows. The best part? You can combine your attacks! Use ice to freeze an enemy and a fireball to melt the ice, then, if you use lightning, it will be the final touch.

Besides, you will travel to different spaces, either with a smooth locomotion or teleportation, where you must beat fantastic monsters and go through a linear set of levels. Have you memorized the spells?

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted

Jump scares, killer animatronics, two doors and a long night perfectly describes the essence of this game. Yes, you are right! We’re talking about Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted.

This VR version will be released some time during 2020; although, it has already become one of the most anticipated New Games Coming to the Oculus Quest. Are you ready? Well, you must!

As you may now, Five Nights at Freddy’s is an indie video game series originally created and developed by Scott Cawthon for Microsoft Windows, iOS, and Android.

The series is located on the fictional Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, and so far, it has more than 10 games in this terrifying universe where some killer animatronics come alive and want to catch you!

As in the previous games, you should survive terrifying encounters with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Springtrap, The Mangle, Funtime Foxy, and Circus Baby, the animatronics that can only belong to a nightmare.

However, this time you are security guard who will play in seven different scenarios: FNAF 1, FNAF 2, FNAF 3, Dark rooms, Parts and Service, Vent Repair and Night Terrors.

This game is just creepy and funny at the same time; it is a perfect mix between screams and laughs. And the fun only increases with the four new mini-games, where you will have to repair claustrophobic vent systems or the animatronics according to the instructions.

In Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted, you control doors and lights, swap cameras to check your surroundings and keep an eye on the terrifying animatronics, but do it as fast as possible or they will catch you. Good luck!

Pixel Ripped 1995

Pixel Ripped 1995 is the sequel to Pixel Ripped 1989 developed by Ana Ribeiro and Brazilian studio ARVORE. And as in the previous game, you will travel between the 2D and 3D world, as if you were traveling between dimensions.

This Oculus Quest version continues the story of 1989, where you fight against an evil goblin named Cyblin Lord, but this time you are David, a 9-year-old boy from New Jersey, who travels to immersive places to play video games inspired by 90s classics.

So far, this sequel retains the atmosphere and humor of the original, while updating it with some incredible mechanics and game references. So stay tuned to continue this wonderful story in 2020!

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners

Zombies never go out of style, but zombies in virtual reality? Better! In this title, you are set in New Orleans, three years after the outbreak and the collapse of civilization, as well as the beginning of the zombie era.

Based on The Walking Dead series, an AMC’s American post-apocalyptic horror television series, this is a single player game, with a story that will probably take around 15 hours to complete and an immersive zombie world.

The game was announced in the 2018 Comic-Con in San Diego, which is one of the New Games Coming to the Oculus Quest in 2020. Developed by Skydance, they want you to feel like you’re in a zombie apocalypse, with all the desperation included.

You are armed with all sorts of weapons, such as firearms, knives, regular-sized weapons, axes, assault rifles and improvised melee weapons that get stuck in walker’s heads when you attack them.

Do you think you have enough to survive? Well, they also give you a backpack that you can fill with food, a notebook, a reliable flashlight and the things you’ll find along the way.

Besides, this world is divided into factions: The tower and the outsiders. The first faction is a group of survivors that control zombies through the use of bells and some particular rituals.

The second faction is formed by the outsider groups, who want the Tower to assume the crimes they have committed. And as in the series, you won’t know who you should trust!

You can choose which factions you will join or defeat; the weapons you want to use and which survivors you will rescue or kill; that is, our decisions and their consequences will shape the story and its end. Be wise!

Solaris: Offworld Combat

Developed by First Contact Entertainment, Solaris is a multiplayer game without campaign or bots that offer fast 4-on-4 fighting and arena-style futuristic online shootout.

It will have a game mode called Control Point and the classic “King of the Hill” or “Domination”, where we will get points while we have control of a point on the map that varies its location throughout the game.

In Solaris you can also customize the characters, or at least the helmets of the avatars that we will use in this world. And the versions for Rift and Quest will be released simultaneously in 2020, allowing cross-platform between both headsets.

Stress Level Zero’s New Game

There isn’t too much information about this game, but we know that a game based on the Boneworks universe created by Stress Level Zero is coming to the Oculus Quest in 2020.

Boneworks is described as an “Experimental Physics VR Adventure” where you are armed with physics-based weapons, tools, and objects to fight in different mysterious scenarios you won’t forget.

So our theory is that this new game, supposedly called “Project 4”, will follow the same path as its predecessor and will offer us an incredible physics-based experience that you cannot miss. Stay tuned!

The Room VR: A Dark Matter

Does it sound familiar to you? Of course! The Room VR: A Dark Matter is part of one of the most famous series of puzzles games so far: The Room, created by Fireproof Games.

In this Oculus Quest version, the first of this series, they take the player to The British Museum in London, where the disappearance of an esteemed Egyptologist prompts a police investigation.

In turn, this event will lead us to solve many different and exciting puzzles as we discover the secrets that this enigmatic museum hides. Its Victorian elements and the strange machines that we will use, add a supernatural and immersive touch that will keep you on your toes!

But be careful! Because you must concentrate to solve each puzzle, since it’s not just about thinking, moving or interacting with the environment and the objects, sometimes you just have to look and you will solve the mystery, because the answer is right there in front of you.

In addition, the game has a teleportation system that allows players to be where they should be and reach everything from the exact position they need to be. Perhaps, it doesn’t allow the full immersion of the story, but there are mechanical and gameplay reasons, as well as benefits to doing that.

They need to adapt to the limitation of every console in which the game is going to be reproduced. That’s it!

Developed by Downpour Interactive, this is a tactical multiplayer shooter experience, originally released on major PC VR platforms in 2016. It is also a first-person game that favors realistic modern combat.

Luna

Good news! Luna, the narrative-driven experience, will finally be released in Oculus Quest, as announced in Oculus Connect 6.

Luna is a very peaceful, addictive and catchy experience, and if you’re ready for this adventure, it’s time to put on your headset and follow that little bird you’ll meet. Relax and travel to several idyllic locations!

The app has some interactivity, which allows you to decorate scenes and interact with creatures; that is, its beautiful animated images are the ones that really stand out, making Luna a wonderful visual spectacle that a VR user of any age could enjoy.

And if you loved the first version, the Storybook Mode allows users to access more contexts in different scenes. It’s wonderful! Besides, Luna will be released in the Oculus Quest soon, but there is no definitive date. It is likely to be launched early next year. Can’t wait!
