Hitman Go VR Review

Hitman is a very popular brand: it spans movies, video games and comic books. Most people associate the title with the PC game where you play an assassin who must stealthily or not so stealthily in some cases shut down his target. You might not be that familiar with mobile version of the game however.
In 2014 Hitman Go was released the mobile. It was virtually a small, table top version of the main game. It was met with some criticism for its lack of content, but overall it was a decent game.
Now Square Enix have announced the port of Hitman Go to Oculus Rift and Gear VR. Is it any good?

The VR version of the game operates almost identically to the rest of the games in the franchise. You go through the stages and try to stealthily takedown all the enemies. This time in a turn-based combat. Sounds ok right?
Actually the game is a lot of fun. You have all the canonical weapons at your disposal: knife, gun, poison, and the garrotte wire, so you can be as inventive as you want to be. The game gets harder as you go, with more thought and skill required to beat some levels.
The VR addition to the game is quite clever. Since the sets are stripped bear from walls and obstructions you can track your character and the enemies from any angle. You literally have to lean in to check certain details out as if you were playing a board game.

While Hitman Go VR doesn’t push the envelope in virtual technologies, it does add a new element to the game. As you play and lean jn to inspect the pieces, you get a strange sensation that you are playing a board game and not a video game.
If you can definitely give it a try.
